J. Nalani Scharsch - Hao J. Nalani Scharsch - Hao
I was born and raised in Kalihi by a Kohala Mother who was of German, Korean, and Jewish ancestry. With my Mother, we went to church several times a week (where she played the hymnals on the piano). School came 5 days out of the week and we gathered with family on holidays and Bible Studies where my love for history grew into a love for writing. On the weekends, my Father, a full-blooded Hawaiian from Keaukaha, did his share of the parenting, his own way. With my Father, we played and sang songs on the ukulele, kalua'd eha pig, picked seaweed and wana, laid nets and ceaned fish near the water's edge, spending most of our lives in and around the ocean. Although we were very poor financially, I feel I have grown up with great wealth and wanted for nothing.

I have been writing for 15 years now and have become a full-time freelance Writer. Although, I still have major responsibilities (homeschooling 3 children & moonlighting as a Private Investigator) that take up a large chunk of my time, I still work full-time hours at my writing. I've found that is is necessary to pay the Price of Success: Hardwork & Determination in order to succeed at this type of work.

I currently write for: Suite 101: Christian Home Education http://www.suite101.com/welcome.cfm/Christian_home_education/

Hello, my name is Jennifer Martin. I am a WAHM to Skyler, 4 and Dylan, 1. I am currently working as a home-based medical transcriptionist. My dream since I was a wee one was to be a writer. At the time I told everyone, "When I grow up I want to be an author." A bookworm since I learned to read, this was and still is my dream. I have lots good ideas that run through my head for children's books and family related articles. It's the "getting it down on paper" that I am having the biggest problem with. That will shortly change as I have set forth with some goals now and hope to have lots on paper with the months to come.
Peace and Light to all,
Jen

pen in hand Judith Costello
Judith Costello, MA, ATR-BC - I am a registered art therapist, artist and writer. Currently I am the editor/creator of a wonderful magazine called "Parenting with Spirit." It has a holistic perspective honoring the minds, bodies, emotions and spirits of children and their parents. The magazine looks at many issues from a spiritual/metaphysical/Buddhist perspective. By "spiritual" I mean "an awe-based search for meaning, magic and connection with the universe." We do not endorse any one religion but rather talk about tolerance and the things that are common to all religions - good values, meaning in life that goes beyond consumer goods, and an understanding of the soul in each of us.. I am looking for writers and artists but can't pay at this time. The magazine circulates nationally. I have two children - Peter is 4 and Brigit is 16 months. She was adopted from Vietnam last August. I am currently going through a divorce and so I am seeking freelance writing jobs to supplement my income. I am also looking for grant/loan info. for the magazine. I write about parenting, creativity, spirituality, divorce and mediation, depression and survival, women's issues...

Judy Davids was 42 when she picked up a guitar for the first time and decided to start a rock band, or make that, a “mom” rock band. Surprisingly, the one thing in her life that she didn’t consider herself to be an expert at made her famous. The Mydols, her band of four Midwestern housewives/mothers drew the attention of the national media and soon she found herself in the pages of the supermarket tabloid The Sun whilst shopping for Lunchables.

Davids penned Rock Star Mommy--a memoir of her journey from soccer mom to rocker mom. (Citadel Press April 2008)
