Sometimes I feel as if my laptop were my third child--the neglected one. Many days I spend all day changing diapers and making peanut butter sandwiches and looking longingly at the computer with a sort of guilty feeling. But at the end of the day the kids go to bed, and the laptop sits there patiently on my desk, ready for action.

I have two kids, 3-year-old Rebecca and 7-month-old Spencer. I started freelancing right after Rebecca was born and have published many non-fiction articles in magazines and online. Right now I'm working on a non-fiction book proposal and a novel, but I have a hard time staying motivated on these longer writing projects.

Thanks to all you supportive momwriters. Although I'm not very vocal on the list, I gain support just from reading about all your forays and successes.

Rozella Kennedy Rozella Kennedy
Rozella (Rozie) Kennedy has worked in communications and media for 20 years, most recently as a producer at Momsonline.com on oxygen, where she headed the working moms' area (Job Wise) and the essays and opinions area (Dare I Say It?) and got to work with many fine writing moms. Before that, she was Managing Editor at Mothering magazine. Previously she was Editorial and Marketing Director at the National HQ for the ACLU in New York, Public Affairs Director at the Bronx Museum of the Arts, and Community Affairs Coordinator at Time Warner's NY1 News, all in New York city.

Rozie lives in New Mexico now, and is working as a freelance writer, arts marketing consultant, and, with her husband raising her two little girls, born May 8, 1998 and May 1, 2001 ("My birthday is May 12, but by the time it rolls around, no one is interested in eating any more cake!")

Her novel, "Becomingmom.com" -- about the pregnancy year and the online connection -- was published in late summer 2001. (60 women... nine months.) You can read the first chapter and find our more at www.becomingmom.com
