The Momwriters KD McIntosh Memorial Award is given annually in recognition of those who give unselfishly to help other's learn the craft of writing. Each year, Momwriters honors Kd's memory by highlighting a Momwriter who best exemplifies her giving spirit.

It is my pleasure to announce the 2004 winner of the Kd McIntosh Award . . .

Bea Sheftel.

Bea Sheftel has had hundreds of articles, stories and poems published in print magazines and anthologies. She is the author of three romantic novellas, and two books of poetry, BEAUTY IN THE WEEDS one and two. This book is available at Amazon.com. But this doesn't give you an entire picture of who Bea really is. You see, Bea is always there with a helping hand. Along with Cathy Brownfield, Bea moderates the MWCrochetMoms, a group of wonderful women who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure Momwriters children have a happy holiday. Bea is always there to help with Momwriters projects.

Most of all, Bea has always made it her personal mission to help those who are new to writing. Her advice has been invaluable; her wisdom a blessing to everyone, both novice and professional.

I had the pleasure of meeting Bea and her husband, Bruce at the Momwriters Gathering in Pennsylvania a couple of years ago. I found her to be just like she is online -- a warm and caring person who immediately makes you feel like you've known her for years.
