Writers Guidelines

Momwriters' web site is a place for new and experienced writers to find writing support and resources. Our and future parents who write.

We are currently accepting content for the following areas:

The Nonfiction Writer
Looking for content that covers a wide variety of nonfiction topics, from greeting card to magazine writing, essays to tech writing -- clear, concise pieces with information and resources. Above all, these pieces must be useful to the reader. Give us something that we can't get anywhere else.

The Writing Life
Looking for essays that will highlight some aspect of the writing life in which Momwriters can relate. In other words, a topic that Momwriters will think, "gee, that could be my life!!"

Take It From Me . . .
This column will address the *how to's* of the writing field. We are looking for topics such as marketing your work, the basics of queries and submitting, book proposals, researching and interviewing. Your main purpose should be to offer information and resources not only to new writers, but experienced writers as well.

The Fiction Writer - Momwriters' new Fiction Series
Columns will rotate every month.

The Mystery Writer
The Poet's Corner
The Horror Writer
Looking for informational pieces with resources for each particular genre. Please keep your topic specific to the genre.

Length: 500-800 words. Query or copy and paste complete manuscript in the body of an E-mail. Please, NO ATTACHMENTS!
Payment: $10 on publication
Rights: We buy first rights which revert back to the author 30 days after publication. We reserve the right to keep all columns indefinitely in our archives. We also will consider reprints. Please send them to the appropriate editor and state where the piece originally appeared.
